From the East:
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for Brethren to dwell together in unity! Such was our last communication. We had to opportunity to share an evening with Humanitas Lodge. We enjoyed a joint dinner, camaraderie and went to our respective lodges. We opened did our business and closed, then traveled to Humanitas Lodge. We enjoyed the travel as the American Room is the most modern of the lodge rooms in the Grand Lodge Building, and it was refreshing to see and visit the Jacobean Room which is much more subdued and stately. Wonderful to see the room so packed.
The Grand Master attended this meeting, presenting R.'.W.'.Martin Dashevsky and R.'.W.'.Henry Tausig with their commissions. Present at this meeting were two pre-candidates, who had the opportunity to join in the festivities, and experience a part of Masonry. I would also like to thank one of our recently passed Fellowcraft, Br. Patrick J. Bahnken, for attending. His enthusiasm for the craft is truly refreshing.
After the presentations were complete, we returned to the American Room to share a coalition. This meeting was well attended and enjoyed by all.
Couldn't let it go without touching on travel. I once again spoke with a Brother who has not traveled, or attended Lodge anywhere but his. I have been asked often, What do I need to do when traveling. My best response is, if the door is locked, knock, if it is open go right on in, ask for the SD, announce who you are, and enjoy! You never know who you are going to meet, or what you will learn.
Our next meeting will be the Foundation meeting and MOVE UP NIGHT. It is important that you direct where the funds you so generously donated to the Foundation be distributed, by providing R.'.W.'.Hyman with your wishes in writing by March 31.
Move up night, seems like yesterday that I had my first opportunity to sit in the East. Please come out and join us, welcoming the new line officers for 2008 - 2009. Guess I was having fun!
Fraternally, W.'.Tony Pecorella

Since we will not have a Ladies Night this year, our event will be that of the Testimonial Dinner Dance to honor R.'.W.'. H. Stephen Lieb and R.'.W.'. Larry Barnard. If you and your lady are planning to attend, please do not hesitate, hesitation causes confusion in the planning and in the long run, detracts from what could be a great event. A yea is just as valuable as a na to the planners. Mark your calendar, and please respond by April! The dinner will be held at Riccardo's by the Bridge, 21-20 24th Ave, Astoria on May 3, 2008.
