From the East:Dear Brethren:
Harmony is the support of all institutions...
How true these words are. Our last meeting was the first for this season and it was wonderful. The Brothers of the lodge pitched in and did what had to be done. We all worked as a team, and we all had a memorable time. My thanks go to all the Brothers who attended Lodge to welcome our guest, Deputy Grand Master R.'.W.'.Vincent Libone as we presented him Honorary Membership. Special thanks and appreciation to V.'.W.'.Michael J. Siegel who served as presiding officer and those many others who participated in the program. We were honored by the presence of Grand Secretary R.'.W.'.Gilbert Savitsky, Grand Treasurer R.'.W.'.Marino Cesarino and so many Right Worshipfuls, Worshipfuls and other Lodge brothers. Brother Libone has been a friend of Harry S Truman for many years; he has friends in our Lodge and has always been friendly to all the Brothers of our Lodge. As we have always supported our Grand Lodge and our Grand Master M.'.W.'.Edward Gilbert, we will continue our support to Brother Libone in all his endeavors. It is who we are as Freemasons.
I ask you all to support our annual appeal for our Foundation. The Harry S Truman Foundation is over fifty years old and has done spectacular work in its charity. I ask you to be charitable in your support of this worthwhile cause. Please dig deep into your pockets and assist at whatever level you can. Even the smallest amount will be greatly appreciated, and it will go a long way.
We will have a second degree at our October 1 Meeting. Our Senior Warden has been assembling our Degree Team; they have rehearsed their parts, had meetings and are prepared to give us all a great degree. All we need is for you to show up, participate and illustrate to these new Brothers the Brotherhood and Fellowship our Lodge is known for. Please join us for this very important meeting. Your attendance will mean a lot to these men and Brothers.
I would like to thank the men and women who put our picnic together. There was a lot of hard work done by many men of our Lodge and their Ladies to insure we all had a great time. Our guests and their families all remarked how wonderful a time they had. The common comment was this was the best picnic they attend. I agree completely, because Harry S Truman is the best Lodge I know, and its Brothers are the finest men I have ever had the opportunity to be associated with. I am truly proud to be your Master, and I am here to serve the Lodge.
Fraternally, W.'.M.'.Mathew Donovan
